Voters should keep in mind Gloria’s scooter bill
Re “Assemblyman Gloria declares 2020 run for San Diego mayor” (Jan. 9): So Assemblyman Todd Gloria needs to turn into San Diego’s mayor. He has served solely two years within the Assembly and was just re-elected to a brand new two-yr term. One must assume he has completed all his objectives for his constituents before trying to leap to a different political workplace.
One such accomplishment I recall is that he co-sponsored Meeting Bill 2989, the “no helmet regulation for electric scooters,” submitted throughout a time when native hospital emergency rooms have been sounding the alarm a few rising number of critical electric scooter accidents. And but Gloria moved his legislation ahead regardless of mounting evidence that his invoice would put individuals at vital danger for damage. AB 2989 is now regulation and the accidents and accidents continue to mount in San Diego. Wow, and he needs to turn out to be our mayor?
