The Latest: 36 injured, 12 critically in Paris bakery blast

The Latest on blast at Paris bakery (all occasions native):

A Paris hearth department spokesman says that 36 individuals, together with 12 in essential situation, have been injured within the blast at a bakery that was apparently brought on by a fuel leak.

Paris hearth department spokesman Eric Moulin informed reporters at the scene that five individuals have been in life-threatening condition, together with two firefighters. 

Paris prosecutor Remy Heitz stated “at this stage we will say it seems from unintentional origin, this might be a fuel leak.” He stated that Paris firefighters have been already at the scene for a suspected fuel leak on Saturday morning when the explosion occurred. Investigations are ongoing to find out the exact explanation for the blast. 

Witnesses described the overwhelming sound of the blast. Charred debris and damaged glass coated the pavement across the condominium constructing housing the bakery, which resembled a blackened carcass.
