Police officer, firefighter injured in Wisconsin shooting

A police officer and a firefighter have been injured in a capturing in Appleton, Wisconsin, and a number of other others have been taken to a hospital.

Appleton police Officer Meghan Cash says first responders went to a downtown location following a name that someone needed medical assistance about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

It isn’t yet clear what occurred after they arrived however Money says there was a capturing and the firefighter and officer have been injured. She didn’t give their condition.

Money says she does not know how many other individuals have been injured however a number of have been taken to an area hospital.

Asked if a suspect had been apprehended, Money did not reply immediately, however stated: “There isn’t a menace to the group.”

Appleton is about one hundred twenty miles (193 kilometers) north of Milwaukee.
