La Vegas Casino robbery suspect dies after shootout with police

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Police say a robbery suspect died Saturday following temporary shootout outdoors the Bellagio lodge-on line casino on the Las Vegas Strip while an officer who was shot in his bulletproof vest escaped critical damage.

Police Capt. Nichole Splinter stated the suspect robbed the packed casino Friday night time and was confronted by 4 officers as he tried to carjack a car in the valet lot.

Splinter stated the suspect fired at the least one shot at an officer earlier than being shot by a second officer.

“The officer had his bulletproof vest on, which in all probability saved his life,” she stated, adding that “it appears like the bullet hit the entrance of his chest and probably went throughout.”

The suspect’s demise was confirmed by a police spokesman, Officer Aden OcampoGomez.

No identities have been launched. Police didn’t disclose how a lot money the suspect took within the holdup.
