2 lanes of north I-5 blocked near Leucadia after truck carrying strawberries catches fire

Two lanes of northbond Interstate 5 in Encinitas have been blocked early Thursday after a semi truck carrying instances of strawberries caught hearth, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The hearth was reported shortly after 5:30 a.m. on north I-5 simply south of Leucadia Boulevard. The driving force of the truck was transported to the hospital with accidents suffered within the hearth, the CHP reported.

The two proper-hand lanes of the freeway have been blocked and a flatbed truck was summoned so the truck might be unloaded.

Visitors on the freeway in both directions was backed up in the space.
